Longstanding Maple Leafs rival Brad Marchand crosses a line yet again, purposely damaging an opponent's equipment, and will likely get away with it.

The Florida Panthers have officially cemented themselves as a modern-day dynasty, winning back-to-back Stanley Cups and establishing their dominance across the league.
The Toronto Maple Leafs came closest to knocking them off last season, pushing the Panthers to seven games and proving to be their toughest test of the playoffs.
One player deeply involved in that run -- and one Leafs fans know all too well, is Brad Marchand.
The 38-year-old veteran was a major factor in Florida's championship push, posting 10 goals and 20 points through 23 playoff games.
But it's never just about the stats with Marchand. He's made a career out of getting under opponents' skin -- constantly crossing the line between fair play and suspension worthy behaviour.
It's a trait that has irritated Maple Leafs fans for years dating back to his days with the Boston Bruins, aiding in a massive rivalry between the two original six clubs.
Now, it seems he's back to his old tricks. During a heated exchange with Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin, Marchand once again crossed the line, stealing Dahlin's helmet and ripping the straps off before tossing it back on the ice.

Maple Leafs Fans Know Marchand' Antics All Too Well

It's the kind of act that should result in an extra penalty, maybe even a misconduct -- but, somehow, the league's most infamous pest got away with it yet again.
Over the summer, he once again had Leafs fans on edge after teasing a possible move to Toronto. Marchand's comments on social media only fueled speculation that he might join the Leafs -- before he ultimately re-signed with Florida on a team-friendly deal.
It was a smart decision given the Panthers' winning pedigree, but to many in Leafs Nation, it felt like yet another Marchand-style jab -- stirring the pot just for fun.
